The holiday season is finally here, and we’re excited to share some valuable safety tips with our Little Legends and their families. As a school, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, and we want to ensure that they have a fun and safe holiday season at home. In this blog post, we’ll share some essential holiday safety tips specifically for kids at home in Ghana. From electrical safety to stranger danger, we’ve got you covered!
Here are four safety tips for your kids:
Electrical Safety
The holidays can be a time of twinkling lights and festive decorations, but it’s essential to remember electrical safety.
– Never touch electrical cords or plugs with wet hands.
– Keep electrical appliances away from water and heat sources.
– Avoid overloading sockets with too many plugs. – Never leave electrical appliances unattended, especially when they’re in use.
Stranger Danger
The holidays can be a busy time, and it’s essential to remind our kids about stranger danger.
– Never talk to strangers or accept gifts from them.
– Always stay close to a trusted adult, especially in crowded areas.
– Never go anywhere with someone you don’t know, even if they promise you something fun. – Always tell a trusted adult if a stranger approaches you.
Fire Safety
The holidays can be a time of candles, lanterns, and other open flames, but it’s essential to remember fire safety.
– Never touch candles, lanterns, or other open flames.
– Keep a safe distance from fire pits and barbecues.
– Never leave cooking unattended, especially when using oil or gas.
– Always tell a trusted adult if you see a fire or smell smoke.
Road Safety
The holidays can be a busy time on Ghana’s roads, and it’s essential to remind our kids about road safety.
– Always hold an adult’s hand when crossing the road.
– Never cross the road alone, especially in busy areas.
– Always look left, right, and left again before crossing the road. – Never play on the road or pavement.
